Originally prescribed for individuals with type 2 diabetes to manage blood sugar levels, this pharmaceutical belongs to a class of drugs called glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs), known for their appetite-suppressing effects.
As there any natural solutions that work?
Patients have reported to me that even without any overt diet changes they have lost weight by taking Apple Cider Vinegar daily.
Apple cider vinegar may aid weight management through various mechanisms.
Firstly, it has been found to promote satiety, leading to reduced calorie intake and subsequent weight loss. Moreover, apple cider vinegar has shown potential in improving insulin sensitivity, which can help regulate blood sugar levels and support weight loss efforts. In Chinese medicine, it is even used for treating conditions like poor digestion and reflux.
Several studies have examined the impact of apple cider vinegar on weight loss. For instance, a study published in the Journal of Functional Foods revealed that participants who consumed apple cider vinegar experienced a 'significant reduction in body weight' a reducing in appetite and prolonged feelings of fullness.
In another study published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, participants who incorporated apple cider vinegar into their daily routine for 12 weeks experienced significant reductions in body weight, BMI, and waist circumference compared to those in the control group.
Apple cider vinegar seems to have multiple effects on weight management.
How to take cider vinegar?
To harness the potential weight loss benefits of apple cider vinegar, it's important to consume it properly. Diluting it in water before consumption is recommended to protect tooth enamel and prevent digestive tract irritation. Start with smaller amounts, like a teaspoon diluted in a glass of water before meals, and gradually increase the dosage as needed.
Based on the studies, it appears that between one tablespoon per day (15ml) and two tablespoon per day (30ml) seems to be the optimal amount for supporting fat loss.
Whilst semaglutide has gained recognition for its weight loss effects, the potential side effects associated with pharmaceutical interventions make natural alternatives like apple cider vinegar an appealing choice.
Remember, if you are on any medication or have any health conditions, it's always important to consult your healthcare provider before incorporating apple cider vinegar into your health regimen.
